10 Key Things to Bring to the Water Park with the Kids

Summer is one of the best time for kids to enjoy to go to water parks with their friends or cousins. Aside from it's fun and enjoying , it's also a good way to survive from the harmful effect of heat during summer, especially if you are living in the United States (Weather Updates in U.S.)

So if you are planning to go to a water park with your friends and their children, you're going to want to make sure you've got everything that you're going to bring to the water park.

 1. Sunscreen

One of the major reason why you should apply sun screen or sunblock is to avoid harmful effects of UV or Ultra Violet radiation that can cause you sunburn and suntan. Which I think you wouldn't like to have, and as much as possible you'd want to enjoy your summer vacation. And applying sun screen whether it is a lotion or spray is highly advised by American Cancer Society to avoid skin caner.

  2. Swimwear

Wearing proper swimwear is very important to consider before going to any waterpark. For girls you should be wearing swimsuits, and for boys you need to wear swim trunks or swim board shorts.

Why do you need to wear one?

Simply because majority of water parks are strictly implementing dress codes for every individual using their facilities for every body's safety(see this water park that implements dress code). And most importantly, it's pretty much comfortable to wear proper swim wears because they are purposely made to be light weight while you are having fun in the water.

  3. Towel

Some water-parks doesn't really provide towels for their guests but some do. But to make sure you won't be soaking wet going home, make sure to bring your towel. And if you think your towel is too bulky to fit in to your bag, you can always consider buying an affordable camping light towel, they are commonly used by hikers because they are easy to dry and ultra light to carry with them.

  4. Money

Many kids and parents are debating whether kids should bring money or not to any water parks. Personally, it is highly advisable to bring money for a few important expenses that you might have to pay like food & beverage, some water-parks only allow food if you will buy from them; miscellaneous expense generally they are the things you might have to pay unexpectedly.

However, make sure you keep your money safely. You are pretty lucky if the water park you are going to has lockers, if not you can always place it in a small zip-lock plastic sandwich or whatever zip-lock and put it in your slim and small belt bag like this:best water proof ultra thin waist bag that you can carry even if you are having fun in the water.

 5. Changing Clothes

Well, sometimes you think you are 99.9% confident that you have packed all the clothes that you need to bring with you. Before you forget something I'm going to remind you again make sure to check your list. If you don't mind wearing the same clothes from your home to the water park, and going home, then you are excuse to bring a set of changing clothes that you'll need when your heading to your house.

6. Toiletries

Toiletries are one of the most important that a lot of people cannot pack completely when going to water park or beach resorts. For boys, it's pretty easy to remember their set of toiletries; body wash, shampoo, toothbrush, small pack of toothpaste, facial wash, comb, and moisturizer.

For girls, make sure to bring a couple of tampons or feminine napkin in case you need
them or a friend of your will be needing your help. Others are feminine wash, shampoo,
hair conditioner, body wash, facial wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, moisturizer, cologne,
powder, and mirror.

Take note all of these single things are easy to forget, which you don't want to happen because you'll be needing them.

7. Swim accessories

When you think that you are not confident with your swimming skills, you'd probably want to bring a float with you. Also there are loads of inflatable chair lounge or inflatable pool floats that you can bring with you, like the Intex River 1 or Intex River 2. They are the ones that are pretty cool to bring you, especially if the water park you are going to has long and wide water slides. There are a lot of cheap pool rafts or affordable water float.
You can also bring a nice pair goggles so you can see clearly under the water, and also to
protect your eyes from chlorine from the pool water.

 8. Water proof camera

This is one of the best part you cannot miss, taking photos of you and your friends when you are having fun in the pool. You can buy a cheap disposable digital camera or you can ask your mom or dad to find a good deal for under water digital camera online. It's something that you can consider to bring with you if you have enough budget to buy it.

One of the best water proof camera I've used was Kodak Playsport water proof camera. It's actually pretty cool to use when I was snorkeling, but with your case you can take video or photos of yourself and your friends when sliding down on the water slides.

I found 2 helpful videos of Kodak PlaySport video reviews on Youtube. The first video was taken by a guy to test on their family pool with his son and wife(I think), I think it's pretty cool so I want to share it with you. You can click here to watch it

And the other one is very informative, it's a good comparison of 2 Kodak PlaySport Models, which are the ZX3 and the latest version which is ZX5. I guess it's a little bit boring at start but as the video continues it went smoothly and it's really helpful to watch especially if you are planning to have one of those. So click here to watch the video of Kodak Playsport Review.

 9. Cellphone

It's always important to bring your cellphone, if you have one, with you. That's because in case of emergency, you can always call your parents if something goes wrong when you are not with them. Just make sure don't show off your cellphone, especially when it's an iPhone or any flashy cellphone or smartphone 'cos you don't want to end up losing it. And if you think you can find an affordable waterproof cellphone casing, please wear it on your phone before living your home.

10. Raincoat

Some people do not consider bringing a raincoat with them. But there are instances of unexpected rain after a very warm sunny day, especially in States like Florida and California. It's better to be sure that you are prepared and you won't be soaking wet on your way home.

If you are like who often checks weather updates whenever I'm going for a trip or holiday, I always consult Mr. BBC News Weather Update. Wherever you plan to go, you can just search it on their weather checker, it's so simple to use and quite helpful. You can see click here and see the weather at BBC Weather.

I hope this list of things to bring to the water park will help you prepare your stuff, and I wish you'll have a fun experience out there. And if you think you need to bring something else, make sure it's not flashy and you can take care of it. Also, I just want to remind you to use a bag that is easy to carry and use some safety padlocks to secure your belongings.
